Organic Silk

Silk is a sensuous natural fiber that sometimes involves some highly unnatural elements. Large corporate silk farms often use heavy chemicals to boost production or add chemical finishes to the fabric to make it heavier or flame resistant for example. With organic silks there are no harsh chemicals, unnatural weighting finishes or any other chemical finishes to come between you and the sensuous feeling of pure silk.

Silks produced by skilled weavers in small villages are the most pure in general. They are also extremely environmentally friendly in terms of requiring very little resources to produce since they are hand loomed. Silks dyed with low-impact or vegetable dyes and no chemical finishes are a luxury that reveal just how beautiful going organic can be.
